Meet Paul

Hi I’m Paul, the owner of Wai Piiki.

For as long as I can remember I have had a love for sports and fitness; at school competing at a national level in football and running then studying Exercise Science and Sport Prescription at The University of Otago. I have continued with post graduate study in the area of improving health in an array of medical conditions using physical activity and linking that to mindfulness to achieve total wellness.

I believe whole-heartedly in the values I have set out for this company; that we as whole communities, as one country have the power to be truly happy and healthy.

Why Wai Piiki?

Wai Piiki was born from a philosophy of Bruce Lee's 'Be Water' and with this, a play on words to provide the symbol and link to that of the 'Worker Bee'.

The bee represents community strength, creating brightness, industrial work ethics and personal power.

Wai Piiki embodies all this plus new growth in the head space, flow and change while spreading your wings; and a whole lot of heart, belief and faith in your journey.

The name 'Wai Piiki' is also a play on words in te reo Māori. Wai (water) and pi (bee) with all a focus to piki (improve, ascend).

Have the ability to mould to the environment and persistence to carve a new path.

Bee strong yet soft, Bee fast but take your time, Bee brave but calm, Bee your flow, Bee your change, and Bee your buzz.
